Nintendo announced today a partnership with Wayport, the company that provides wireless access in McDonalds restaurants in the US, meaning you can eat your BigMac while playing DS games online for free. I’m really hoping that Sony can think in something like this for the PSP, though you can use your PSP with any wireless network.
Speaking of PSP, some great games are comming up, GTA: Liberty City Stories looks awesome and the playability hasn’t change from the original, wich is good. Can’t wait to play it!
Other game that is looking good but still in development is Field Commander, a turn based militar strategy game, much like the Nintendo Advance Wars without the kiddy looks, more like the Command and Conquer series.
One of my favorite movies will be available in UMD format, The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is probably the first UMD with real extras that I know of. Check the review here and then check this site - PSP UMD Movie Reviews. Hollywood really adopted the UMD format…
VIM get’s updated
[2005-10-15] It has been more than a year since version 6.3 was released. Dozens of bugs have been fixed, runtime files were added and updated. There are no new features, these go into Vim 7 now (still under development). This is a stable Vim release, everybody is encouraged to upgrade to version 6.4. Release notes can be found in the announcement. Or do “:help version-6.4″ after installing. Happy Vimming! (Bram Moolenaar)
Gaim developers posted a news update. Looks like version 2.0.0 will be Google Talk compatible, including voice and it will support a few other protocols.
Well I just got home from my weekend out and it seems I’ve lots of stuff to update since friday, so I guess it will be quicker to just list things out without much detail.
And that’s it for today… My bed is calling me!
I don’t post since the 12th but I’m lacking the time to write a decent post.

Apple released today the new iMac. It has three new features: it’s thinner, it’s got an iSight videocamera built in and a new applications bundled, one called Photobooth and the other is Front Row, a media center with a bundled remote. Two models are available a 1.9 GHz with 17″ screen and a 2.1 GHz with 20″ screen.

The other “star of the day” is the long waited iPod Video, the format is similar to the old iPod but with a bigger screen. A 2.5in TFT display with 320×240 pixels with MPEG 4 and H.264 video decoding. It has only 260,000 colours but it can output video to a TV. Available in 30 and 60 GB capacities, but thinner than the current 20GB Pod. The 30GB will be $299 and the 60GB will be $399 and it comes in black like the nano.
Apple innovates once again, and as usual a new iTunes 6 is available. You can now buy TV shows, movies and videoclips. Soon podcasting will evolve to screencasting…
My 2 cents.? I’ll wait and see. It looks good, but the screen size is very small compared with the PSP screen. As for the screeen quality I’ll have to see it for my self, the photos “can’t do the trick”. Oh and like Rui, I was hoping for some wireless connectivity…
