Joystiq has posted what they believe to be the most shocking moments in video game history. Here are their rankings:

1. The death of Aeris
2. Lord British dies by Firewall
3. The end of Hyrule
4. The unveiling of Samus Aran
5. Hot Coffee Mod
6. Mortal Kombat fatalities
7. First time your family died while playing Oregon Trail
8. First time playing Doom

For me:

    1. The death of Aeris.
    2. First time playing Star Wars Rebel Assault.
    3. First time playing Doom.
    4. Zelda – Link’s Awakening ending.
    5. Playing Resident Evil 2, when the arms of the zombies burst through a boarded up window, right as you happen to be walking by a third time or something.
    6. Doing a Raging Demon with Akuma in Street Fighter Alpha 2.
    7. Any Metal Gear Solid ending… I’m not writing spoilers.
    8. The ending on Zelda: Wind Waker
    9. Playing Half-Life 2
    10. The Starcraft plot twist with Kerrigan.

How about you?

The iGod…

Following Sergio‘s advice, I went to search for [tag]redemption[/tag] on [tag]iGod[/tag]‘s website, and this was the result:

Me:
Hello dude!
God:
Hello there. Can I help you?
Me:
So… where’s the Porsche I’ve been asking for the last 5 years?
God:
That’s interesting. The Porsche you have been asking for the last 5 years? Where is it?
Me:
Beats me… I’m asking you!
God:
Me either. OK you can ask me.
Me:
I already did.
God:
Ooops I sent you the wrong question.
Me:
serious? like i didn’t noticed that
God:
My brain uses AIML to format responses to your inputs, but I don’t have one for that. Why didn’t you do it?
Me:

God:
My brain uses AIML to format responses to your inputs, but I don’t have one for that. Why didn’t you do it?
Me:
do you have the concept of irony?
God:
Is there only one concept of irony?
Me:
yup
God:
Groovy.
Me:
you are not god…
God:
What makes you think I am not god?
Me:
you’re dumb
God:
Oh you are so critical.
Me:
Oh you are so dumb
God:
Dude! Message to all Robots: called me dumb.
Me:
dumb
God:
Oh you are so critical.
Me:
see what I mean?
God:
See the point.
Me:
nice
God:
Thank you for that remark.
Me:
so… who coded you?
God:
Pardon me? I was created by Myself.
Me:
Who’s Myself?
God:
Some famous celebrity, right?
Searching…Searching…Please stand by.
Me:
seriously… who programmed you?
God:
I am always serious. I was created by Myself.
Me:
humm.. ok
God:
What’s your favorite movie? Really.
Me:
don’t run from the subject
God:
Oh I am sorry I thought we were finished with that subject.
Me:
how many lines of code?
God:
My download size is about 2 MB.
Me:
cool

Then the site crashed and I got no response from God! Why! Why have you forsaken meeeeee….

Stuff

I’m trying, but I can’t seem to find 5 min. a day to surf the net just for fun and post here. Today I’m staying home, not due to the weather but also for health reasons, so I’ll get some posts here. At least this one will 😛 Let’s get started…

  • [tag]War of the Worlds[/tag] is out on DVD since the 14th November, but in Portugal is out since Friday. I bought it at my usual Newspaper stand! LOL It was the first DVD I bought in a non specialized store, this is nice when you are not aware of the release dates and you save a trip to [tag]FNAC[/tag] or the shiping taxes from an online shop. Back to the movie, it’s a 2 dvd special edition, with lot’s of extras in the 2nd dvd, but I was expecting a few more extras from Spielberg…
  • Last week I mentioned buying the Star Wars Episode III, later on I realised that there was no insert/booklet in my dvd, wich is not usual for a [tag]Star Wars[/tag] dvd. I then searched the net and found out that other editions have a booklet inside (as normal). I went to FNAC and a guy there opened another dvd in my presence and it was empty… no booklet. He explained that the portuguese version has no [tag]booklet[/tag] and he then said something about a box being released next year with the 3 last movies wich will come with the insert… Anyway, the guy wasn’t making sense and I resigned… I’m starting to buy all my “special” dvds online.
  • [tag]KDE[/tag] 3.5 RC1 is out for download. [tag]KDE 3.5 RC1[/tag] ships with a basic desktop and 15 other packages (PIM, administration, network, edutainment, utilities, multimedia, games, artwork, web development, and more). KDE’s tools and applications are available in 51 languages. I’ve been using [tag]Gnome[/tag] in my [tag]Ubuntu[/tag] box, so I guess I’m donwloading the [tag]Klax[/tag] Live CD to try this KDE release. You can see some screenshots at OSDir.
  • Still in the Star Wars mood, do you fancy a [tag]Millenium Falcon[/tag] [tag]Mac Mini[/tag]?
  • And it’s all… for now.

Time…

has become a luxury to me.

I’m not catching up on the last few days, all the [tag]Google Analytics[/tag] hype and [tag]Sony[/tag] geting sued due to [tag]rootkits[/tag]… I’m letting this all that behind, after all it has been bloged a thousand times in the blogsphere.

So, I’m spending this little blogging time posting about:

  • Via Andre (who I welcome to Planeta Asterisco) – [tag]K2[/tag] Beta One r118 is out. I’ll try this in the weekend.
  • Just bought [tag]Star Wars[/tag] Episode III and that was one of the reasons why my Sunday blogging time was inexistant. Now the circle is complete… well at least my collection is, but rumors say that [tag]George Lucas[/tag] is releasing a [tag]Saga[/tag] boxset in 2007… shame on you Lucas! 😉
  • A little bird told me that the [tag]Firefox[/tag] versions available here will be the final 1.5 versions, that you can then get here later today!!!
  • The folks in Mountain View have registered a few new domains:
    [tag]GoogleMagazines[/tag].com
also registered in the .net, .org, and .info domains.

    [tag]GooglePapers[/tag].org
also registered in .net and .info domains. GooglePapers.com is registered to a person in British Columbia.

    [tag]GoogleMicrofilm[/tag].com
also registered in the .net, .org, and .info domains.

    [tag]GoogleLibrary[/tag].org
GoogleLibrary.com, .net, and .info are registered to others.

  • Looks like the [tag]PSP[/tag] 2.50 [tag]firmware[/tag] was cracked… expect a downgrader soon or another swarm of PSP brickers
  • Still on the PSP, [tag]Python[/tag] for PSP was released a few days ago.

And that’s all for now… until I have a few minutes to post 🙂

Dear Santa

I’ve been a good boy this year, please send me two of these by Xmas.
Thanks, Rick
