Yup, got them on friday, after waiting more than a month and a few negotiations with the customs. The stamps are real, meaning you can use them in Japan, and its a limited edition. The stamps come in a special hard case with a list of Mario games (in japanese
) and decorated with characters from the original Super Mario Bros.. I’ll post some photos later on.
Found it via Caleblog… I still think this tests are all a bunch of b.s….
One year ago I started this blog. Not being my first blog, it was the first one that lasted this long and that I didn’t shutdown after 2 or 3 months. In one year I got almost 200.000 hits, which I think it’s alot for the crap I write here, nevertheless I’m not quite satisfied. I’m still haven’t found out the purpose of this blog and I know there’s lots of space for improvement. I often lack the time to write here and when there’s time there’s no inspiration or no will to do it. I know it’s a matter of discipline, of being able to keep up a rhythm and some “love” torwards writing, but some times it’s hard. I don’t like to repeat other’s stuff and for God’s sake this is no “Last Minute News” Blog.
For the reader, this blog is “my stuff”, random stuff who might interess you but by all means don’t take any of my posts too seriously, I’m no expert in any topic that I write here, just see this as a nice friendly “chat”, or use it too kill some unproductive time.
Inspiration
Well, my inspiration comes from a part of my life. I’m a very reserved person so you won’t see here many “intimate” stuff lol but besides my life, and the world my inspiration comes from other blogs. One blog that inspired my to create my own blog in this “format” was The Tao of Mac. Although I’m not a technical guru as Rui is, my blog reflects some technical stuff, mainly stuff I use during my days and that you can find it almost anywhere.
The Profit
As you might have noticed, my blog has no ads. I don’t make a single dime with my blog so that’s not the profit I’m talking about. The profit I gained while having this space are the people I’ve met during this year. They’re people who share common interests, who’re enlighted and will innovate our society with more or less impact. And no, I won’t tell who they are because they’ll know.
What now?
Now I’ll keep on writing. Trying to evolve this into something better, maybe dedicating more time to write some quality posts. Discipline. That’s the word for the future.
Thank you all.
I’m a big Google fan. I use Gmail, Gtalk, Picasa, Google Earth / Maps… the works, but as a user, using all this “free” Google software, made me think about the companies and developers who base their work and products on Google platforms like Google Maps and Adsense. These companies and developers are not just a few, actually it’s a growing group each passing day. Tags like “geo” / “map” / “planet” are beginning to crowd the names of applications and websites, all them depending on Google Maps. When surfing the web, the majority of blogs present us with Google Ads, and the so called “pro-blogers” depend ultimately on web site ads, being most of them from Google. Millions of users have a Gmail account and use it as their main email account, I’m one of them and I’ve been deprived of my Gmail account once so I can say it’s not a nice experience.
My question is: what if something bad happens to Google? Or, let’s not be so drastic and more realistic, what if Google starts to charge money for their products? Would Google Maps be so famous and so broadly used if it was a paid product? Would Gmail had so many users even offering 2Gb of mail storage if it was paid? I guess not.
Google dependency is one of the effects of the Web 2.0, a very dangerous dependency not because of Google as a company, but because of the amount of people depending on one single entity.
Sorry post in portuguese only.
Ainda estamos neste ponto. Depois do caos prevê-se um dia calmo, a fibra deve demorar umas boas horas a ser reparada e tão cedo não vamos ter todos os serviços a correr… Thank God is friday…
Update: 13:45 - A situação normalizou, já temos ligação.
