Then you probably missed me by just a few minutes 🙂 I also stopped by because I already knew beforehand that a Wii was on display at Bliss. Didn’t go for Zelda though, I had a go at Wii Play instead but I would have preferred to try out Wii Sports.
I found the Wiimote is a bit too much sensitive but there was a led bar at the bottom of it and I reckon it must indicate the level of sensitivity. Still, I couldn’t find an obvious way of making it less sensible.
The wife wasn’t enjoying it though, we tried playing a game of ping-pong and the fishing one, so I didn’t stay there longer than 3 minutes.
Anyway, although I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one for a long long time I didn’t place a pre-order. €250 1 more Wiimote and Zelda make for a grand total of over €300 and that’s quite a lot of money to be spent on a hot-headed decision.

Hi,
Instead of getting a new TV set, you could use an existing computer screen with a stand-alone TV tuner, like this one: http://www.cnet.com/4520-7387_1-6341848-2.html?tag=tab
At Box (Amoreiras) there is a EUR99 device that does this. They even use it with a KVM switch and all the LCDs they sell there.
I’m considering to get one of those, as my LCD screen is quite big and can connect several sources at once: composite (Gamecube), VGA (TV tuner), DVI (Computer). I don’t know how to run 3 different sound sources trough the same speakers though.

Did you notice any lag in the commands?

@Nuno: Thanks for the tip, unfortunately I have a 19″ LCD and I don’t think it will be a great experience with a Wii.
@Nuno Barreto: I played a timed demo of Zelda, so I guess the final version must be more polished than that one. The only lag I noticed was when I pointed the Wiimote at the screen to shoot an arrow or the grappling hook, the crosshair took a little time (very little) to show up.
