Why I’m not getting a Wii this Xmas

  • Zelda is the only game that interests me.
  • There are no good 3rd party titles available.
  • Can’t enjoy VC games ’cause I have no broadband connection at home (yet). 🙁

The only “living room” console I own is a Gamecube which, by the way, is one of the greatest consoles still around. Being able to play Gameboy games on the telly is priceless ;), but I digress. As other GC owners know, there were many excellent 3rd party titles that never reached the Cube. I’m a big fan of the Metal Gear and Final Fantasy series (among other titles), and I still want to play those games. I could wait for the PS3, but I’m not risking retro compatibility issues and paying 600€ without knowing the future of the platform. PS2 has a large game library and excellent titles and both, console and games, are at a very affordable price. That’s why I’m getting a PS2 this Xmas, I’ve already bought Metal Gear 3 Subsistence it’s now only a matter of time until I buy a PS2 :D.

I got to do some ‘xmas shopping on the same day and saw some units on sale but no games whatever, no Zelda, no Wii Play, none.
